A translator is a person who works with a written language. Typical kinds of work include translating books, instructions, software manuals, and other documents.
Tariffs start from 0,12€ per word. I count the number of words using Microsoft Word or by manual estimation in a non-digital document.
The tariff per word can depend on many factors including the following:-
- the complexity of the text
- the urgency of the translation
- how much research is necessary to complete a quality translation
- any specific customer requests or needs
- the size of the piece of work
I am not selling a product and pricing linguistic work is not an exact science. Prices can vary widely and I always try to be fair and transparent when preparing a quote. I do not have a 'minimum fee' per piece of work. Some translations only require a short time to complete - a simple café menu or just a few lines from a letter for example - and in such cases I will quote accordingly.
Please feel free to email your document to email@example.com for a free quotation.
